One Person Rescued in Hatfield Township Sewer Plant Crash
On 2/2/2020 at 1:23am Colmar Volunteer Company was dispatched to a vehicle accident rescue at the Hatfield Township Municipal Authority Main Sewer Plant. Deputy 12 arrived on scene and found a vehicle overturned in a retention runoff waterway with one victim trapped inside. First arriving crews immediately went in service to stabilize the vehicle and began extrication. An additional rescue truck and county USAR team were requested to assist. At 2:15am the victim was successfully extricated and transported to Abington Memorial Hospital by VMSC. Crews remained on scene until the car was safely removed from the waterway.
We were assisted at the scene by units from Hatfield Fire Company, Montgomery Township Fire Department, Hilltown Fire Company, Montgomery County USAR, Lansdale Volunteer Medical Service and Hatfield Township Police Department.
